July 8, 1942 – October 28, 2011
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Lou Masse. Lou is survived by his fiancée Donna Berube, son Duane Masse and granddaughters Ali and Tori Masse, daughter Michelle Fillion and granddaughters Emma and Jordan Fillion, and Donna’s children Leesa and Perry Berube and grandson Randy Berube. Lou was predeceased by his wife (Sherry), daughter (Naomi), parents (Louis and Edna), his brothers (Louis, Derle, Ron, Doug), and Sister (Anita).
Lou was born in Edmonton and raised in the Lake Isle area. He spent most of his adult life in Edson building a prosperous company and loving the many outdoor adventures that this lifestyle offered. He loved his farm, his family and his friends.
For the past few years Lou fought relentlessly against the panic and pain associated to cancer. With the spirit of a great warrior he beat all time lines given to him in order to be with those he loved, and did so with much dignity. Through his private battle, he taught many people important lessons about valour and purpose.
Lou will forever be remembered for his booming voice and personality, his true resolve for leading a simple but true life, and his unfaltering kindness towards all people. Lou never sought to be the centre of attention – but always was. He will be so greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be offered at the Edson & District Recreation Complex, #1 Golf Course Road Highway #16, in Edson on Saturday, November 19th at 1:00 PM. We invite you to share in our memories of Lou.
